Introduction of KARI and space development programs in Korea

Even though Korea has 27 years history in space development, Korea is one of the countries who have successfully developed space programs. In fact, the world recognizes Korea as a role model and bench mark model in space development. As a government funded research institute, KARI(Korea Aerospace Research Institute) has played key roles in Korea space development. Especially, in satellite development, Korea recorded almost perfect success rate and currently possesses several top class high resolution earth observation satellites. Besides, three stage liquid engine space launcher is being developed and a lunar exploration project starts this year. In this seminar, the past, current, and future space programs in Korea are introduced and KARI’s activities in these programs are also provided.
