Typical systems of fluid-structure interaction of civil engineering may deviate from those of mechanical engineering, e.g. in automotive and aerospace industries or vibro-acoustics. This talk gives an overview of our current research activities on numerical investigation of fluid-structure interaction problems specific to civil engineering and discusses challenges in bridge areolasticity, vibration control, free surface and multi-fluid flow as well as FSI-related green energy converter technologies developed at Technische Universität Braunschweig.
