This talk is about uncertain quantification in structural dynamics and its interactions. Two applications will be analyzed.
The first one is the drill-string nonlinear dynamics : a slender column rotates and drills into the rock in search of oil. In this first application, the bit-rock interaction model is uncertain. The second application is the problem of a pipe with a moving fluid inside. In this case, the fluid-structure interaction is uncertain and a robust stability analysis is performed. In both applications an adaptation of the nonparametric probabilistic approach (Soize, 2000) is done to cope with modeling errors related to the interaction phenomena : bit-rock interaction and fluid-structure interaction.
